Comfort Zone Who? I’m Busy Solving Murders in Thailand

I saw it while mindlessly scrolling through my Instagram feed. Intrigued instantly slapped me across the face as I read about a White Lotus Thailand themed murder mystery dinner party.

Do it.

I am my intuition’s bitch, so I immediately went to the event page to sign up. There were two options: participant and spectator.

Sign up as aparticipant.

No, Intuition. I don’t want to participate. I’d rather hide and watch.

Do it.

The Truth About My Comfort Zone

Here’s the thing. Others label me as adventurous because I’ve done improv, bungee jumped, skydived, and even jumped out of a helicopter into the ocean. I am afraid of heights, yet none of those things are as terrifying to me as allowing myself to be seen.

I grew up in a hyper-critical family and felt like every move I made was put under a microscope and scrutinized. Therefore, I developed a survival strategy of hiding and not allowing myself to be seen because it felt safe and comfortable.

And it was safe and comfortable for many years. But it has also held me back from opportunities to expand and grow.

When you hide behind your comfort zone and miss out on increasing your confidence, you tend to feel:

·       Small + invisible, like you want to shrink into the background and not take up space.

·       Second-guess by replaying decisions in your head, needing reassurance, and struggling to trust yourself.

·       Exhausted because people-pleasing, proving, and performing are draining.

·       Guilty for wanting more, for saying no, or even for resting.

·       Hyper-aware, like a radar is always scanning the room, wondering “Do they like me? Am I enough?”

·       Disconnected from your own desires, intuition, and body, because you’ve been outsourcing your worth to everyone else.

Magic in the Unknown

After moving to Hawaii on my own seven years ago, which was one of the scariest things I have ever done in my life, I find that I don’t have many excuses anymore to not do things. Because that act proved to myself that I can do anything no matter how difficult, scary, or uncertain. Now, it’s just a matter of flexing those muscles to keep them strong.

I knew the White Lotus murder mystery dinner party was a call to step up.

Okay, Intuition. I’ll do it.

It felt scary because I hadn’t taken improv or performed in years and had never even seen White Lotus, but with heart pounding with a mix of fear and excitement, I signed up to play Kate Bohr.

And I had a blast!

Every time you do the thing that scares you a little, like speak up, set the boundary, or take the leap, you show yourself what you’re capable of. Confidence is built on one brave choice at a time.

And when you shine and are internally confident, you feel:

·       Grounded, like your feet are firmly planted, no matter what anyone else thinks.

·       Radiant. You don’t just enter a room; you light it up.

·       Certain. You trust yourself, even when the path isn’t clear.

·       Free to say no, to say yes, to rest, to take risks. All without guilt.

·       Magnetic. Love, opportunities, and aligned people are drawn to your energy.

·       Relaxed. You don’t scan for approval, because you already know you’re enough.

·       Connected to your desires, intuition, and voice. You show up as your full self.

The comfort zone feels safe, but it keeps you small. The magic happens in the unknown.

If I can go from hiding to signing up for a murder mystery dinner party, you can absolutely build unshakable confidence too.

What’s one thing you’re ready to stretch into this week?

You are worth showing up for yourself.

Glow Tip:

Each morning, ask yourself: “What’s one small action today that would make me proud of myself?”

It could be saying no to something you don’t want to do, speaking up in a meeting, or even wearing the bold lipstick you usually save for “special” occasions (newsflash- being alive is the special occasion).

When you follow through, you give yourself daily proof of your own power.

And that’s how confidence becomes unshakable.

Craving deeper?

Dear Radiant Soul,

If you’ve found yourself exhausted from constantly trying to be everything for everyone and always performing, pleasing, and perfecting, I want you to know that you’re not alone, and you don’t have to keep living this way.

In Shine from the Inside! coaching, I guide women just like you through the GLOW Method of coming home to themselves. Together, we gently unravel the patterns of people-pleasing, perfectionism, and self-abandonment that have kept you stuck in cycles of emotional over-functioning and spiritual burnout. This isn’t about fixing you. You were never broken, just dimmed. Let’s turn your light back on. It’s about remembering who you are beneath the masks and the hustle.

The result? Everything shifts. You stop outsourcing your happiness. You stop shrinking to fit into spaces that were never meant for you. You become the woman who walks into a room and doesn’t need anyone’s approval because she already belongs to herself.

If you’re tired of endlessly “working on yourself” and ready to feel radiant, grounded, and free, Shine From the Inside! was created for you.

You deserve to feel whole. You deserve to feel powerful. You deserve to shine.

With love and fire,

Angie
