Meet Angie.

Angie Hawkins is a passionate Self-Love Coach and Author who helps women break free from people-pleasing and external validation to shine from the inside. A lifelong storyteller, Angie’s journey began in fifth grade when she won her school’s Young Author Award. Since then, her creative work has been featured in comedy, digital media, and personal development platforms.

Angie was accepted into the prestigious Second City Chicago Sketch Comedy Writing Program, where her class co-wrote and directed a full stage show. She went on to create the storytelling blog, So... What Happened Here?, which imagined backstories from everyday street finds. Her corresponding Instagram account @sowhathappenedhere has grown an engaged audience of 6,000+ followers.

Her On the Corner of North and Wells story is featured on the Biograph website. And her written testimonial is featured on coach and author Kathy Caprino’s Most Powerful You sales page, mostpowerfulyou.com.

In addition to her print accomplishments, Angie has appeared on-camera as co-host of two episodes of Bummin’ Around with Bob Schram, a YouTube series exploring neighborhoods in Milwaukee and Chicago. She has also performed live through improv and storytelling classes at The Second City Chicago and Improv Hawaii. Check out her local news feature here.

In addition to her creative background, Angie brings over 20 years of corporate experience with a B.S. in Finance from Indiana University's Kelley School of Business. She transitioned from a high-powered IT Finance Operations role at a large global company to pursue her calling as a self-love coach and emotional empowerment leader.

A Life Lived Boldly

Angie moved from Chicago to Hawaii solo to align her life with purpose and joy. Her adventurous spirit shines through her experiences: from skydiving and bungee jumping to running 16 marathons and jumping out of a helicopter, Navy SEAL-style.

In her free time, she surfs, dances, practices nail art, and speaks at local empowerment events about vulnerability, healing, and the themes in her memoir, Running in Slippers. She’s also an active member of Vibe Tribe, a virtual, invitation-only, intuition community, and Goal Getters Collab, a women-led entrepreneur network.

Whether through writing, coaching, or storytelling, Angie’s mission is to help women stop dimming their light and start shining from the inside out.

Needless to say, I am extremely confused about how any of this correlates with facing our fears (allegedly, if you don’t expose your body to poison, you won’t feel anxious and fearful). I am annoyed that they wasted my money and free time. The seminar lasts thirty minutes over the scheduled two hours, and it is the most painful two hours and thirty minutes of my life. All I want to do is leave, but Sheila has my coat hostage. I am not brave enough to get up and leave by getting my own damn coat to make a statement of “Screw you, this seminar sucks!” which is ironic at a ‘Fear Not!’ seminar, although Sheila’s grandparents had the balls to leave an hour ago.
