Say What You F*cking Mean

An eBook that helps you decode the subconscious sounds hiding in your voice, uncover what they're costing you, & start speaking with the confidence of a woman who knows exactly what she wants & isn't afraid to ask for it.

Okay, here's something you probably don't know about yourself.

Your subconscious beliefs don't just live in your head. They can show up as protective sounds in your voice, and your listener may respond to them without even realizing it.

And the craziest part?

Those same sounds that may have developed to protect you could be costing you a fuckton of money.

You know you're qualified for the promotion, but when your manager asks about your salary expectations, your voice suddenly gets hesitant, your sentences sound like questions instead of statements, and you sound like you're six years old asking your mom permission for a Capri Sun because you don’t want to bother anyone. But instead of hearing a qualified woman advocating for herself, your manager may hear someone who isn't even sure she deserves the raise.

Or you're a business owner who knows her shit, but the second you press record to make a video for social media, your mind goes completely fucking blank. Suddenly, you're overthinking every word, second-guessing how you sound, and trying so hard to appear professional that you barely sound like yourself. Because somewhere along the way, you learned that making mistakes meant criticism or embarrassment, and now you're terrified someone watching your video will think you're not competent. But instead of hearing your personality, expertise, and enthusiasm, viewers hear a carefully rehearsed script and struggle to connect with the real you.

And here's what's happening underneath those behaviors: Your subconscious may be altering your voice to protect you from the vulnerability of expressing your true self. Somewhere along the way, speaking up, asking for more, or making mistakes may have led to criticism, rejection, or embarrassment, so your voice learned to protect you by sounding agreeable, proving your worth, or carefully controlling every word. And now those protective vocal patterns may be running on autopilot, even if they're costing you money.

The good news? I can hear those protective sounds in your voice, and I can help you start changing the patterns behind them.

Let's Find Out What Those Rules Have Cost You.

Introducing SAY WHAT YOU FUCKING MEAN, a $37 digital guide that helps you investigate the subconscious beliefs hiding in your voice and what they may be costing you, emotionally and financially.

Because you can know exactly what you're worth and still sound like you're asking someone else to decide.

Maybe your subconscious learned that sounding agreeable kept people from getting angry, overexplaining kept people from questioning your intelligence, or sounding perfectly polished kept people from noticing your mistakes.

And now, decades later, those same protective vocal patterns may be showing up when you're negotiating a raise, posting on social media, introducing yourself, on a sales call, interviewing for a better job, or setting a boundary.

The problem? Other people don't hear the childhood story your voice is trying to protect you from. They simply experience you as you sound today.

And what you intend as kindness might sound like uncertainty. What you intend as confidence might sound like desperation to prove yourself. What you intend as professionalism might sound so rehearsed that nobody can connect with you.

And when the stakes are high, like when money is on the line, that shit can get expensive.

Inside this guide, you'll follow the clues from the beliefs you may have inherited, to the protective patterns showing up in your voice, to the financial decisions those patterns may be influencing.

You'll meet six money and voice archetypes, explore what your voice may be communicating without you realizing it, and investigate how much those old stories may have cost you over the years.

Because knowing why you do something is information. Interrupting the pattern and creating a new one is how you start making different choices and actually changing your life.

Here's What You'll Investigate

✦ The childhood beliefs you may still be living by

Explore how messages about love, approval, mistakes, safety, success, and money may have shaped the rules you still follow today. You'll also examine what you may have learned about speaking up, disagreeing, asking for more, and allowing other people to have their own reactions.

Because "That's just how I am" might actually mean "That's what I learned to do so nobody would lose their shit."

✦ The six archetypes

Meet The Prover, The Good Girl, The Editor, The Waiting-for-the-Other-Shoe, The Light Dimmer, and The Outsourcer.

These aren't personality labels or diagnoses. They're six ways to recognize recurring patterns that may be influencing your confidence, decisions, voice, and financial life. You'll investigate how each archetype may show up in your behavior, the subconscious money story underneath it, and the protective Voice Mask that may be influencing how you sound.

For example, The Prover may start talking faster and explaining every accomplishment because she doesn't trust that simply owning her value will be enough.

The Good Girl may soften her voice, apologize, or turn her price into a question because she can't stand the thought of making someone uncomfortable.

And The Editor may sound so careful, rehearsed, and controlled that the personality and expertise she actually wants people to hear get buried underneath her fear of making a mistake.

You might recognize yourself in one. You might recognize yourself in all six. Either way, we're getting nosy.

✦ What your voice may be revealing

Ever notice how your voice changes when you introduce yourself or are making a sale?

For example, maybe you start overexplaining, apologizing, rushing to get it over with, using filler words, or turning a solid statement into a hesitant question.

✦ Your listener isn't just hearing your words. They're also experiencing how you say them.

You might be trying to sound confident, but your frantic overexplaining could leave someone feeling pressured.

You might be trying to sound kind, but all that hesitation and apologizing could leave someone wondering whether you actually mean what you're saying.

Or you might be trying to sound professional, but the carefully rehearsed voice you're putting on could be hiding the personality, intelligence, and expertise you want people to experience. Congratulations. You sound like the terms and conditions nobody reads.

Drawing on Psychology of the Voice®, we'll explore how learned protective patterns and Voice Masks may influence the way you communicate, especially when money, authority, judgment, or rejection is involved.

You'll start noticing the difference between what you intend to communicate and what your voice may be communicating instead.

Your voice offers clues, not a diagnosis. And those clues are worth investigating.

✦ The actual financial cost of your patterns

Because if an old story is influencing the way you speak up, negotiate, make decisions, or advocate for yourself, it may also be affecting your bank account.

You'll examine the financial consequences of decisions you've made over the years, like the raise you never asked for because you couldn't bring yourself to have the conversation, the offer you never launched because you were terrified of someone finding a flaw, and the years you spent undercharging, overdelivering, or waiting until you felt "ready."

And the times you knew exactly what you wanted but heard yourself say something completely fucking different.

Then you'll do an exercise to calculate identifiable losses and estimate other possible financial costs to see what those patterns may have been costing you and decide whether you want to keep paying for them.

✦ How to start saying what you actually mean

We'll move beyond simply noticing the patterns. You'll investigate the fears beneath your words, question whether you still believe the old stories, and practice finding language that reflects what Adult You actually wants.

Because Eight-Year-Old You may have needed to keep everybody happy, but Adult You doesn't need to ask permission to have an opinion, set a boundary, or charge what you are worth.

Because knowing your worth in your head is one thing. Being able to express it when something important is on the line is another.

This Is for You If...

  • You've spent twenty years working your ass off, but when you finally ask for a raise, you need to prove every accomplishment since 2007 because you're terrified your boss won't think you've earned it.

  • You're halfway through presenting your proposal when someone crosses their arms. Because you are reading the room instead of being grounded in your message, you decide that they're not interested, start rushing through your explanation to get it over with, and skip the part where you explain why your work is worth the price.

  • You haven't even asked your boss for a $20,000 raise, but you've already decided they're going to say no, so you rehearse every possible objection and end up asking for $5,000 instead.

  • You're interviewing for a job that pays $30,000 more, but you're so busy thinking, "Did that sound stupid? Am I talking too fast? Why did I say that?" that you lose your train of thought and struggle to connect with the interviewer.

  • You've read the books, done the journaling, and understand exactly why you people-please, but when someone asks for something you don't want to do, your mouth still says, "Of course! No problem!" because the thought of being rejected terrifies you.

And this is especially for you if you're the woman everyone thinks has her shit together, but privately you're exhausted from feeling like you still have to prove you're good enough.

Because you're tired of knowing what you want and hearing yourself say something completely fucking different.

Imagine Knowing What's Been Running the Show.

Imagine noticing yourself about to offer an unsolicited discount and recognizing the fear underneath it before the words come out of your mouth.

Or hearing yourself start to overexplain your expertise and recognizing that you don't actually need to convince everyone in the room that you deserve to be there.

Or recording a video for social media and passionately speaking directly to the people who genuinely love what you have to say, instead of worrying about what @DavesHotTakesFromTheBasement might think of you.

Imagine finally understanding why receiving money, recognition, or support feels so much harder than working yourself into the ground to earn it.

And imagine beginning to recognize the difference between the voice you've learned to use to protect yourself and the voice that actually expresses who you are. Not the rehearsed, watered-down, please-don't-be-mad-at-me version. The real, amazing you.

You don't have to immediately transform every pattern to start making progress. But you can begin questioning the stories instead of automatically living by them.

And you can start noticing when those stories are speaking for you.

What if the most expensive thing you inherited was a belief?

For example, growing up, you asked for a pair of Nikes and got a fifteen-minute lecture about how money doesn't grow on trees because wanting shoes made you an ungrateful little asshole even if you had no idea what a budget was.

Or you proudly brought home a 98% on a test, and your mom's first question was, “What happened to the other two points?” Well, fuck. So much for celebrating.

Or you cleaned the entire house, babysat your siblings, and got straight As because being the kid your parents “never had to worry about!” was how you earned love and approval, even though deep down, you desperately wished someone cared enough to worry about you.

Or you disagreed with your mom at dinner and got hit with, “Don't you dare talk back to me!” because having an opinion was fine, as long as it was hers.

So you adapted. You became the responsible one, the easygoing one, the perfectionist, or the woman who can run an entire department but still hears herself saying, "Whatever works for you!"

And you didn't just learn what to believe. You may have learned how to sound so nobody would criticize you, reject you, or make you feel like you weren't good enough. You learned to soften your requests, explain yourself until nobody could possibly misunderstand, sound agreeable even when you disagreed, or keep your mouth shut altogether.

And those childhood survival strategies may have followed you straight into adulthood and your finances.

Because some of the rules you're following about money and using your voice were written before you were old enough to have a bank account.

I Spent 20 Years in Finance. Nobody Taught Me This Shit.

Hi, I'm Angie Hawkins, The Inner Glow Coach!

I spent more than twenty years in corporate finance, and I have a finance degree, a career full of accomplishments, and a personal history of being absolutely fucking terrified to ask for what I wanted. Which is pretty ironic considering I spent two decades helping companies manage millions of dollars while struggling to advocate for my own worth.

For most of my life, I did everything I was supposed to do. I got the degree, built the career, made good money, and checked all the boxes society promised would make me happy. My LinkedIn profile looked fantastic. But I was fucking miserable in my own life. And the craziest part? I didn't understand why.

Nobody taught me that the beliefs I inherited growing up could influence how much money I felt comfortable asking for, what opportunities I pursued, or whether I believed I deserved the life I actually wanted.

Once I started uncovering and rewriting those money stories, things began to change. I went from believing my dream life was financially out of reach to manifesting $100,000, which helped me finally make my lifelong dream of moving to Hawaii a reality. I packed up my life in Chicago, moved across the ocean alone, and started building a life that actually felt like mine.

But moving to paradise didn't magically fix everything.

In 2020, I reached emotional rock bottom and survived a suicide attempt. I'd spent my entire life building a life that looked successful to everyone else, and almost lost my life without ever learning how to love myself.

That experience became a turning point in my journey to rebuild my life from the inside out. I wrote Running in Slippers, a raw and vulnerable memoir about my journey from self-loathing and a suicide attempt to self-love and thriving. And I left my twenty-plus-year corporate career and became The Inner Glow Coach.

Today, I combine my finance background, Psychology of the Voice® certification, and signature GLOW Method to help women uncover the subconscious stories influencing their voice so they can reclaim their power, say what they fucking mean, use their voice with confidence, and become the kind of woman who naturally attracts money, opportunities, visibility, and fulfillment.

I've moved from Chicago to Hawaii on my own, jumped out of a helicopter into the ocean Navy SEAL-style, bungee jumped, skydived, and cliff jumped, yet I am still terrified of allowing myself to be seen.

So when I tell you I understand what it's like to know you're capable of more but still feel terrified to put yourself out there, I mean it.

I didn't create this guide because I have always had my shit together and have everything figured out. I created it because I know what it's like to spend decades following beliefs that were never yours, and what becomes possible when you finally start questioning them.

You can know your shit, have all the qualifications in the world, and still struggle to say what you fucking mean.

And I created this guide so you can start following those clues for yourself.

With love and a whole lot of glow,

Angie 🪩
